LookBook: Rocker Chick and Classic Neon!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram you've seen these looks already, but here goes all the info about them. I'm so glad they were pretty successfully "liked" since they were my very favorites from the past month!

Don't expect crazy awesome, but instead pretty casual and easy to wear but with a touch of style ;) of course! Hahaha

Outfit 1: For days when it's not an option to wash my "LEO" hair and blow dry it (takes me at least 1 hour) the sock bun has been my latest best bet! It's an easy and put together look. Your hair must be at least shoulder length for the same effect. I balanced off the ragged boot look and motorcycle leather jacket with more classic but casual skinnies and a snake skin wrapped long scarf and knitted blouse. Also, you can't go wrong with neutrals, such as nude, grey and blacks ;)

Rag & Bone sknny jeans; Express knitted blouse; Target snake skin printed scarf; Steve Maden bandit boots.
I ended up loving this makeup look so much I put it on my youtube channel art panel!

Rachel Roy skull earrings, Bobbi Brown gel eye liner; Urban Decay Naked palette and L'oreal Tickled pink lipcolor

Outfit 2: Equally casual look but with a total different vibe. An oxford shirt upgrades any look and it goes with pretty much everything. I love to mix styles on my outfits as you already know, and in this case I opted to mix the preppy feel of the stripped oxford shirt with the more contemporary boyfriend jean. Add a trendy piece to make the look up to date, in this case I added neon pieces.

Zara BF jeans; Ralph Lauren oxford shirt; Forever 21 cardigan; J.Crew suede belt; I.N.C snake skin suede fuchsia pumps
Even with a blurry pic, you can have an idea of the makeup I chose, which was cooler than usual. Cobalt blue eye shadow and pastel pink lips, peach cheek contour and that's it!

Sephora metallic eye shadow; Mac lipstick and lipglass in Snob; Milani baked blush in Luminoso.

Outfit 3: This one seem to be the most popular of all times, I never got as many "likes" on anything as much as I got on this one....total accident, really didn't think much of it. But here we go, I always feel my most self and my most comfortable and my most pretty (lots of most!) when I wear jeans with heels, I do like to vary the styles but if you look back at my looks I'd say that the majority is the jean + heel deal and I also love dresses, but didn't get much use of them in this beautiful little valley in Colorado! (looking at the bright side, let's say that shaving wasn't a priority for a while!) hehehe...

Lauren for Ralph Lauren flouncy cotton shirt; H&M nautical stripped blazer; J Brand skinny blue jeans; Rachel Roy neon pumps; J.Crew belt; Forever 21 bracelets and Stella and Dot white bangle.
Not sure why I didn't get a face shot this day, sometimes my face just looks yucky and this day must have been one of those!!! Sorry :(

Hope you have enjoyed the looks and let me know if you have any questions!

iTube: Cobalt Blue Eye Makeup Look + Everyday Curlsssss

It's Monday and it's Memorial Day holiday up here in the States. I am working a lot on my packing/blog/video editing and Mommy duties (so not much of a holiday for me, except I will be going to the pool in a little bit....part of the mommy thing!). In this post I will be featuring both the makeup and the hair look I wore last week on the OOTD video. I broe down in two so you can only watch the one that interests you (even tough I hope you watch both!!!).

Makeup: I listed all the products I used on the actual video! Let me know if you have any questions ;)

Hair: I used the 1" barrel curly iron from Hot Tools ( best I've owned to this day. And was on sale at Ulta a couple weeks ago, might still be!). Sebastian hair spray in ultra hold.

I know the video was cut short on my bangs, so I do take a bit longer on them, getting smaller sections and holding the hair against the iron for just a couple seconds, you don't want to curl the bang too much ;)

Please help me out ladies and subscribe to my You Tube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/stylediaries79?feature=watch
Feedback is always so appreciated! Have a beautiful week.

iTube: OOTD - The Neon Dress

I'm so excited about the video outdoors so if you need to be critical or plainly bash me (and my modeling skills! Hahaha) please do it so in small doses and don't be so harsh ;)

On this video I'm featuring one dress and two completely different ways to wear it. Also as a little bonus I'm posting pics of when I bought the dress back in October/November to show you yet another way to style it.

Here goes a more fall version:

Truth was I had limited wardrobe choice as I was visiting my friend Karin in the little island of Manhattan ;) just for the weekend. But sometimes in scenarios such as those we get creative and come up with unexpected choices. This ended up being one of my favorite ways to wear my dress!

I apologize for the quality of the picture. It was taken with my cell phone at night.

One more thing: Please let me know how you guys like this style of videos, it's valuable feedback if you watch them, or if you're a follower or subscribe to my channel. I'm always looking for ways to improve my channel/blog and still keep my style, so your feedback is very IMPORTANT!

FashionBuzz: Two of my favorite Billboard Music Awards looks and options for us ;)

I'm not a fan of talking celebrity on my blog, but when it comes to fashion I can open a parentheses...at least once in a while!

A couple looks stood out for me as I really really love them and surprisingly the teen stars were wearing them, looking  as gorg as ever! So I came up with a couple options for us mortals to get the look ;)

BeautyTalk: Beauty Boxes Exposed!

I promised this post last week and things got crazy, so here it is a bit late but full of fun goodies and very much informative ;)

I found this article on Instyle magazine and thought it was pretty cool to discover what's behind the beauty boxes so many girls talk about. For that reason I thought my readers could benefit from the info as much as I did.

A beauty box is a box filled with mostly sample sizes of products that are brand new on the market  or somewhat new that you receive through mail every month or once every three months depending on the service you signed up for. There are several options on the market, and you can sign up online. Some companies have a standard box for everyone while others will let you pick what you want. Some of them come with full size products. They are typically a mixture of fragrances, makeup and hair products for as low as a $12 monthly fee.

   Curious?! I was too!!!

1. Glossybox.com comes with mostly high-end and luxurious products. Subscription plans run from $21 per month $60 for three months, $115 for six months, or $220 for twelve months. You can try once and if you love it you can save a lot by signing for the whole year or six months.

March Box

2. Beautyfix.com is pricier but amazing. The best thing about it is that the products are deluxe travel size, which means they are bigger than regular travel size and you can choose amongst the dermatologist tested products from well known brands what you want for your skin, based on a questionnaire you answer about your skin type and issues. This is a quarterly box, so after signing up you'll receive an email every three months prompting  you to choose your products. Each shipment costs $50

3. Birchbox.com is probably the most cost efficient one and they work with the best brands such as Kerastase, Smashbox, Khiel's and Stila to name a few. For $10 a month you get a box delivered to your door. Birchbox ships free.

 4. Curlbox.com is for the girl who wants to embrace her natural curls. The box comes with five to seven  travel and full size hair products for you to take amazing care of your curls. Membership is $20 a month and free shipping in the U.S.

 5. Ipsy.com is a must for the makeup lover. Also low cost this website was co-founded by makeup artist and youtube star Michelle Phan, so it gives you access to instructional videos along with samples from brands such as Benefit, Josie Maran and Urban Decay to name a few for a tiny fee of $10 a month and free shipping.

Ipsy holiday box

6. Beautybox5.com focuses on hot launches from established brands that are usually eco-friendly. Items tend to be more useful than trendy and ultra-luxe minie from other companies. Monthly membership costs $12, subscribe for 3 months for $30, or get a whole year worth of boxes for $100.

7. Julepmaven.com is a great box for the mani-obsessed. High-end polishes, trendy colors and creams, scrubs and tools is what you'll find in the monthly box. $20 a month will get you a box with a chance to preview it and make the decision whether you'd like to keep or send the box as a gift to a friend as well as skipping that particular box without being charged for it.

Do you have a favorite or are you already a member?! I'm dying to sign up for a couple of them but not till I go back home! And I want to hear from you, which would you get?!

Tomorrow will be video day, I'll post a Vlog entry on a road trip we had this past weekend, nothing mind-blowing but some family fun! Stay tuned ;)
