LookBook: The Pastel Look with Mermaid Skirt!

Are you a big fan of the nudes and pastels but needs a little something to spice things up? Like the romantic style but needs a bit of an edge?! Well, this is a look for you my darling ;)

I got this Forever 21 skirt and was hesitant on what to wear with it, I didn't want the typical "cutesy look" or an "all over sparkles" type of thing, so to add an edge to it and a strong color I paired the skirt with a silk cream blouse (romantic style) with chocolate brown accessories, such as a fedora hat, peep toe oxfords and a thick leather belt!! Hope you enjoyed this look and get inspired to try on some risqué add-ons.

Since it's pretty cold outside I paired my outfit with a leather jacket and a soft nude pashmina ;)

The hat adds a bit of a spice to an otherwise bla outfit!

Love love love the fur with ruffles vest I got from my dearest manager! She gave me as a gift and it worked perfectly with the rest of the pieces!!

The soft look! Works for an office as well as for happy hour ;D

Blouse, Banana Republic; Skirt, Forever 21; Tights, DKNY; Oxfords, Ann Taylor; Belt, Hollister; Leather jacket, Khelf; Hat, The Hatter.

iTube: The Baked Face!

I know it's winter time up here but hey I'm not a big fan of the pale look so I think it's perfectly fine to fake a summer glow (not a fan of the tanning bed look though) I think a bit of a glow that can be removed with soap and water is great for any time of the year and it doesn't damage your beautiful cutis ;)

For this make up look (natural and glowy) I used:

Hello Flawless Oxygen Brightening make-up by Benefit in "warm me up toasted"

Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls in "Medium bronze"

Brow Pencil by Lancome in "Sable"

Chanel Ombre d'eau fluid iridescent eyeshadow in "Riviera"

Bobbi Brown blush in "flame 6"

Lancome Doll Lashes mascara
Cover Girl lipstick in "anemone 225"
-L'oreal illuminator  Magic Lumi

This is by far one of my favorite videos, I hope you've been enjoying them too! If so, please subscribe to my you tube channel "Karina Style Diaries" to be up to date with my videos and watch them over and over until you master your make up style ;)

WeekPick: Metallics!

Just came across this foil sweater by Rock & Republic for Kohl's, mind you Rock & Republic used to be sold at major luxury retailers before being bought out from Kohl's and so I think they kept their edge without the steep price tag!!

It's on sale now for 34.00 and it comes in Silver as well!

*Find this and other amazing sweaters at kohl's:

Another amazing find it's the Bleulab pant we just received at Blitz Vail this past week, it's their famous reversible jean except this one is totally metallic crazy but without the waxy feel, in fact it feels like sweats....A freaking mazing!

Metallic side, available at Blitz Vail! Call us, we'll ship to you (fits true to size) (970) 949-0782

Faux suede side! This pant retails for about 300 but you're getting two pants ;D
Bleulab is also available in major luxury retailers such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and specialty boutiques!

The Kardashian sisters are big fans of the bleulab jean! They've been spotted wearing it several times

Bleulab Detour Leggings in French Chalk

Here's a great Q&A from the blog Denim Therapy about Bleulab fall 2012 lookbook!

Hope you are enjoying the metallic frenzy just like me ;)

LookBook: The oxblood fever!

By now you've heard all kinds of names for the good old burgundy...oxblood, chianti, Bordeaux, cherry, cranberry, etc, etc...the point being this warm hue is EVERYWHERE literally! So, because I'm trying to not chop off my locks (after much consideration, not) I decided to do some low lights in the trendy color, and I like it!!! Yeah yeah I like it!! 🎤🎵🎶🎼🎧

So since I like to show off (have you noticed?! I'm pretty discreet if you ask me!) I'm posting my faves ;D hope you enjoy!!

Show off too and send me a pic of your version of the trend! I would love to publish :))))

Beijos,

iTube: How to hide under-eye circles/bags

I'm pretty sure a lot of us girlies can relate to this problem, some more than others that's why I made this quick video (it really is my shortest ;D) so you can try to minimize the problem. One thing to remember though is to use yellow concealer to neutralize purple circles and use green ones to hide red spots. Cover your concealer with one that matches your skin color!!

LookBook: 50 shades of grey!

Well, not really 50 but a few ;)

I'm not sure those books had anything to do with this but I'm guessing it's part of the Zeitgeist! Whatever the reason the fact is that greys are hotter than ever just in time for the colder season...
and even though I can rock these shades best when my hair is darker I still thought it was worth a try and got a "Hello space girl!" from hubby when I got home from work!!!

If you've watched my smoky eye tutorial I said I almost never use the black palette, so I thought I'd clarify that by showing you when I actually do this black version! It just went perfect with my sci-fi  look!!! Hehehehe
No filter pic, to show u exactly what this amazing jacket looks like! #inlove

This is my Marcia Moran gold/Druzy ring (it comes in a set of three). I love to wear different rings with my wedding rings. This Jewelry designer is Brazilian and has the most amazing stuff ever!

The faux leather leggings along with the jacket are from BCBG MaxAzria and the riding boots are Via Spiga from last year. Hope this look inspires your grey mood which is perfect for a grey Monday!

LookBook: When we lack snow, we wear skirts!

And high heels, and silk blouses, etc, etc, etc....

When you live in a resort town that survives from it's tourism -especially in the winter season, you pray everyday for God to bless it with lots of snow! I almost don't recognize myself saying this since I pretty much enjoy snow on Christmas day and that's about it. Well, well we live and we learn to enjoy things we never thought possible and now I catch myself crossing my fingers for that very expected white powder falling from the sky!!!! While waiting I'm taking advantage of this snowless weather and wearing little skirts, high heels and silk blouses (pretty off-limit when it's snowy out there!)

As a side note, I'm loving the winter whites trend, so refreshing from the regular dark palette of the winter!

This baby is on my wish list! A Michael Kors down jacket in white with gold zippers, decadent! Available at Blitz Vail, hit me up if you'd like to order one for u ;)
Another one little item on my wish list is the waxed Seven For All jean in Oxblood. Now imagine these two together? I might have to try them on today!!
I love my H&M colorful skirt when wore in the winter it just looks so fresh and bright, I paired mine with a reversible little jacket from BCBG MaxAzria and some colorful jewelry!
Stella and Dot Necklace: stelladot.com/kareske

Banana Republic silk blouse, Joe's jeggings in military green and my beloved Aldo leopard print booties!!

Cheapies but cuties?! Forever 21 sequined blouse, Converse Jeans and Steve Madden heels. Tassel from Stella and Dot also.

I was just proud of leaving the house without styling my hair and thought it looked kinda nice all beachy ;P

Winter yummies, I work right beside a Marble Slab ice cream shop, can't resist when they bake their frigging waffle cones!!

50 Shades of Grey anyone?! Hehehe I still haven't read them but I'm all for combining those greys!!!
Hope you enjoyed these looks and looking forward to hear from you ladies and gents!

iTube: The Smoky Eye!

Today's video is about the smoky eye, I absolutely love it for any occasion, a lighter or stronger version would be the variant but either way the smoky eye is a must know when it comes to make up!

On my video I'm using a brown palette by MAC and I usually recommend warmer pallets for brown, hazel and green eyes and cooler palettes for blue, gray and black eyes. That doesn't mean you're stuck with these colors for life, I'm all for being trendy and trying new things, these are just the most complimentary colors for your eyes ;)

This is a BAD screen shot from the video, just so you can see what's going to look like!

Enough of bla bla bla and let's get to the make up!!!

   Products used:
MAC eye primer in medium
MAC smoky eye palette in brown shades (mine is so old there's not even a color name, but any hues that appeal to you will work)
Lancome brown pencil in sable (for top lid)
Mac eye pencil in stubborn brown (for lower lid and inside eye-lines)
Lancome Doll Lashes mascara
Make-up brushes

As always, thank you my beautiful supporters!
