BeautyTalk: Beauty Boxes Exposed!

I promised this post last week and things got crazy, so here it is a bit late but full of fun goodies and very much informative ;)

I found this article on Instyle magazine and thought it was pretty cool to discover what's behind the beauty boxes so many girls talk about. For that reason I thought my readers could benefit from the info as much as I did.

A beauty box is a box filled with mostly sample sizes of products that are brand new on the market  or somewhat new that you receive through mail every month or once every three months depending on the service you signed up for. There are several options on the market, and you can sign up online. Some companies have a standard box for everyone while others will let you pick what you want. Some of them come with full size products. They are typically a mixture of fragrances, makeup and hair products for as low as a $12 monthly fee.

   Curious?! I was too!!!

1. Glossybox.com comes with mostly high-end and luxurious products. Subscription plans run from $21 per month $60 for three months, $115 for six months, or $220 for twelve months. You can try once and if you love it you can save a lot by signing for the whole year or six months.

2. Beautyfix.com is pricier but amazing. The best thing about it is that the products are deluxe travel size, which means they are bigger than regular travel size and you can choose amongst the dermatologist tested products from well known brands what you want for your skin, based on a questionnaire you answer about your skin type and issues. This is a quarterly box, so after signing up you'll receive an email every three months prompting  you to choose your products. Each shipment costs $50

3. Birchbox.com is probably the most cost efficient one and they work with the best brands such as Kerastase, Smashbox, Khiel's and Stila to name a few. For $10 a month you get a box delivered to your door. Birchbox ships free.

 4. Curlbox.com is for the girl who wants to embrace her natural curls. The box comes with five to seven  travel and full size hair products for you to take amazing care of your curls. Membership is $20 a month and free shipping in the U.S.

 5. Ipsy.com is a must for the makeup lover. Also low cost this website was co-founded by makeup artist and youtube star Michelle Phan, so it gives you access to instructional videos along with samples from brands such as Benefit, Josie Maran and Urban Decay to name a few for a tiny fee of $10 a month and free shipping.

6. Beautybox5.com focuses on hot launches from established brands that are usually eco-friendly. Items tend to be more useful than trendy and ultra-luxe minie from other companies. Monthly membership costs $12, subscribe for 3 months for $30, or get a whole year worth of boxes for $100.

7. Julepmaven.com is a great box for the mani-obsessed. High-end polishes, trendy colors and creams, scrubs and tools is what you'll find in the monthly box. $20 a month will get you a box with a chance to preview it and make the decision whether you'd like to keep or send the box as a gift to a friend as well as skipping that particular box without being charged for it.

Do you have a favorite or are you already a member?! I'm dying to sign up for a couple of them but not till I go back home! And I want to hear from you, which would you get?!

Tomorrow will be video day, I'll post a Vlog entry on a road trip we had this past weekend, nothing mind-blowing but some family fun! Stay tuned ;)
