iTube: The Soft Black Smokey Eye for Day
Hi ladies and gents, seems like I'm on a wave of inspiration in which I totally rely on to make my posts/videos happen, since my break from work started I found myself having more ideas and especially more time to work on fun things here on the blog. Yay!!!
That being said, I count on you for feedback, for letting me know what you'd like to see here, etc... I'm sure you already know it but the every time you reach out to me it truly makes me jump up and down with joy, so keep those comments coming my friends ;)
This week's video is a black smokey eye look to be worn during the day for it's softness, I promise you're not going to scare away anyone in the office, much to the opposite it's a tasteful and appropriate black eye (POW!!!) look for day!
What I used on my face to prep skin:
- Pixi pre-primer serum
- Chanel Vitalumiere tinted makeup in 40
- Mac Studio Fix concealer in NW30
- Makeup Forever waterproof aqua brow in 15
These are the things I'm wearing right now but obviously you can use what you have at home. I do suggest matte eye shadows for this look though as the shimmery kinds will make it a bit evening-ish.
Step-by-step eye product application:
- eye primer
- brown creamy pencil or a warm shade of brown eye shadow
- black matte eye shadow
- highlighter or shimmer eye shadow under the brow at the brow bone
Then smoke it all out with a blending brush, and don't forget the lower lash line!
- eye liner (can be pencil, gel, liquid whatever you prefer!) and line the water line, that really makes a difference ;)
Ready to rock!

Check back this week as I'm working on a OOTD video showing you different ways to wear your boyfriend jeans this season!

LookBook: Denim on denim, chunky necklaces, military and rocker chick vibe all in one week's worth of outfits!
Here I am slacking off again but I do have a good reason: kids on spring break!
Wish I had the emoticons do do a face pulling my hair...because that's how I feel this week :) hehehe
So for last week's looks I've got a mix of of everything for all of your tastes, well maybe not all of them but for most ;)
Tuesday: I was so excited my Frye white cracked leather amazing boots had arrived and I couldn't wait to wear them...till I did, and found myself looking in the mirror and seeing one of those rodeo girls from Dallas with their white costumy boots and mini skirts cheering for the cowboys....yeah not very me after all. I absolutely loved the concept of the boots but in reality it was something totally different and that's a lesson my dear readers, sometimes just because we love a trend it doesn't mean it works for us, in this case I think if I grew a few inches I might've been able to pull it off but since that's not happening I simply returned the lovely "Dallas" boots (that's how I nicknamed them!!)
I wanted a clean look for that day, nudes and denim on denim were my choice, I love the Zahara Bib neckalace from Stella and Dot because of it's versatility, it can go totally dressy or totally casual. And yes, I decided on the sky high nude patent pumps!
Wednesday: I was trying a black smokey eye look for day (for a video), soft yet powerful like a black smokey eye should be! So to go along with the soft and hard of the black eye for day I combined a flowy and silky blouse in a cream color with my Joe's coated denim that gives the look of leather, as well and the harsh feeling of studded heels with the softness of a furry creamy color coat :)
Thursday: Another try on the smokey eye ( I want it to be perfect for you my friends) and yet another edgy look. I really love the military vibe, it's polished and put together and I'm one for the tailored clothing rather than the loose, even tough I have my share of loose stuff and am not a fan of the super body con bandage dresses and all...oops! So for this look I opted for pants instead of the skirt I was planning to wear, the texture of the shirt is very thick and it shows through when tucked in so I had to play with it for a while until I managed the perfect tuck!
Does this necklace makes you feel like Christmas as much as it did me?! Hehehehe
Friday: clearly I was in a Rock & Roll mood! Once again it started with a makeup look I saw on Ivete Sangalo (an axe singer from Brazil) who was wearing a big cat eye and red lips and so I wanted to try on the look and automatically associated with a bit of goth, all black ensemble. Now thinking back I would've loved a white crispy shirt with a light wash skinny jean better but hey, too little too late!
As the week progressed and I had no time to wash my hair, up it went on a high up ponytail with a bit of a bump - a small one. Thank goodness for dry shampoo :D
Also, I switched off to a high bootie once at the store.
So I really hope you've enjoyed this week's mini lookbook as it was probably the last big one for a while, I'm done working for the season (well I have a few more days to cover vacations and such but not as often) so while I'll have more time to blog I won't have as many dressy occasions to be a part of, but do not worry as I'm planning a bunch of fun outfit videos with a ton of tips so stay tuned! As always your feedback is highly welcomed as well as your subcscription to my youtube chanel and/or blog!

Xoxo nude leather jacket; Blanknyc skinny jean; Levi's denim shirt; Frye white cracked leather boots; Target patent nude skinny belt; Stella and Dot Zahara Bib Necklace. |
The option was: frye cowboy boot or sky high pumps.....not sure it's just me but man I look a lot leaner on the pumps, no?! |
Denim on denim with nude accents and Zahara Bib necklace that goes with just about anything |
Wednesday: I was trying a black smokey eye look for day (for a video), soft yet powerful like a black smokey eye should be! Tibi furry short sleeve coat; Joe's coated pant; Rebecca Taylor cream top with black accents; Truth or Dare studded heels; H&M black skinny belt; Stella and Dot Lucia pearl bracelet and earrings. |
I love how the boho chic vibe of the top plays well with the edginess of the coated pant and it all goes along with the smokey eye ;) |
Ralph Lauren military shirt; BCBG faux leather legging; Aldo studded boots; Juice couture belt bracelet; Stella and dot spiky, studded and chain bracelets; Target yellow and gold combo bracelet |
Loved the big bubbly necklace (now on sale at Blitz Boutique in Vail) with the rest of the outfit, so unexpected! |
Zac Posen pleated skirt; Zara skull tee; Bebe motorcycle jacket; Aldo studded boots; Stella and Dot bracelets |
As the week progressed and I had no time to wash my hair, up it went on a high up ponytail with a bit of a bump - a small one. Thank goodness for dry shampoo :D
Also, I switched off to a high bootie once at the store.
Forever 21 super high booties |
Wrap leather belt Brave; Stella and Dot bracelets except for the chained one that is Ralph Lauren; studs earnings Rachel Roy. |

FashionBuzz: H&M Conscious - Sustainable Style Line
So I got the email a few days ago ( might have been a week!) and I was AMAZED with H&M's new line "Conscious - Sustainable", not only this is a great step to use up waste but also builds up consciousness in the youngsters (and oldies too) minds. Not to mention how absolutely fabulous the pieces look, seriously couture-ish like my friends and some prime material for the vintage look lovers, also one of them you can even categorize as avant-garde ;) no that's not all, the prices are also something to talk about, and most pieces are machine washable (if you're like me that means a lot!!!)
CONSCIOUS - "Our vision is that business operations shall be run in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable".
Take a look at a few of my favorite pieces:
For more info on their collection and much much more pieces, including more casual and much cheaper ones go to: hm.com/us
Items not available in every store, so I'm crossing my fingers I'll be able to find one to show you and do a quick review ;)

iTube: OOTD - The Vest!
As I promised today I'm posting the vest look I wore last Friday along with my first "outfit of the day" video. These are completely different looks and feel even though I wore the same vest and pants!
In the pictures I'm wearing a black silk shirt instead of a white which makes the look a bit dressier and easier to transition to a night out, not to mention I wore heels instead of boots so my point is, with the change with just a few pieces you can create a total different vibe, so invest on quality everyday pieces ;)
Item featured: Tommy Hilfiger puffy vest in camel about $79 with Blanknyc sknny jeans $99 (sure you can find a better deal!)
JCrew black silk blouse; Aldo shoes cheetah printed booties; Ann Taylor sand leather belt; Tom Ford Whitney shades |
Stella and dot Gigi Studs, $24 in black and gold, goes with absolutely everything! |
Stella and Dot arm party! This one goes in all price ranges from $39-$79, the link is don bellow if you'd like to check it out!!! |
My hair was filthy that day (oops) so I sprayed some dry shampoo and did a side fishtail braid, also contoured the whole eye with black gel eyeliner from Bobbi Brown, stays put all day ;) |
Hope you enjoyed the video and the different looks for your puffy vest! Feed back always welcomed and appreciated ;)
Here's the Stella link if you'd like to check out their new summer collection:

LookBook: Three days of floral pants, nudes and brights!
Last Tuesday I thought it would be a sunny and somewhat warmer day, I was totally caught off guard with the high winds and icy roads not to mention the big snow storm that hit the Valley on that day...argh anyway I totally picked the wrong day to start wearing my sandals! That being said you can get the idea but be wise and check the weather channel before leaving the house :)
Tuesday: Floral pant and and flat sandals put me in the spring mood....till I left the house and hit the roads :/
Wednesday: went for a skinny jeans and white blazer look, never fails to be polished look!
Thursday: As the week progressed the sun did come out and I felt really bright! Also, these are the last weeks of the skiing season here in Vail so the stores are having delightful sales....in which I got this amazing Anna Sui dress with an 85%off! Yes, believe it or not, it was one of those great purchases!!!
As for the Friday look I saved it for tomorrow since it has some relevance with the outfit video I did over the weekend! Check back tomorrow and have a wonderful week!
Beijos,

LookBook: Cores and Flores :)
For last week's lookbook I used and abused of prints. I must be honest when it comes to prints...I didn't use to be attracted to a whole lot of them but lately I've been starting my outfits with the cutesy things...
My week really starts on Tuesday as I work from Tuesday through Friday, unless you'd like to see me in my sweats cleaning the house on Mondays (with my messy hair and peeling nail polish...not pretty!
Tuesday: I wanted to wear my black leather pencil skirt but since its a bit long and conservative I thought I'd spice it up a bit with a cute silky cheetah print blouse and the amazing Emerald Green accessories from Stella and Dot spring collection! Available at www.stelladot.com/kareske
It just made it that much more youthful of an outfit!
TIP 1: When you choose to wear prints with colorful accessories try and stay neutral or within thesame color family. That will ensure the harmony of the outfit and no pieces will "fight" against each other ;)
Wednesday: Brian brought my floral, ruffly blouse from Indy and I just wanted to wear it now! It would've worked with regular skinny blue jeans also but I wanted to dress up the look a bit, so I picked a pair of shinny silk pants to go with it! Chunky pearl necklace in a titanium shade, just for a change ;)
TIP 2: To dress up this outfit I used a tailored silk pant, it's still loose but has a skinny look to it. Be careful when wearing two loose fit pieces, you can easily loose the balance of the outfit and look sloppy instead of put together! When in doubt, go with a great fit jean.
Thursday: First let me brag about this amazing DVF dress I snagged at the store on sale, like a fraction of the original cost ladies, I'm soooooo happy!!!! Needless to say how much I love B&W, and when this came with a touch of coral (really hot for spring) it was love at first sight :) not to mention the geometric shapes that are so trendy. I couldn't wait for a sunny day to sport this cutie so I paired the dress with heavy tights and a motorcycle jacket.
TIP 3: Even though this dress is a 4 and I'm usually a 0 or a 2 I made it work, this is the best tip I've ever heard when it comes to shopping for clothes, use a tailor girls! Don't be afraid of trying on bigger sizes and don't mind the size tag, they're usually not right anyway! Just buy the dress that makes you feel wonderful. In this case a belt was my best friend and we cut off 4 inches of each strap so the dress wasn't "hanging" on me!
Have a blessed week!
