LookBook + AccessoriZe: Last week's picks and all :)

   Last week was a busy week, especially with hubby being out of town it made me unfold myself in three and work even harder!

   Between three kiddos to take to school, make lunches, baths, homework, go to work, cook dinner, do laundry and all the little pick up's around the house I still managed to pick out cute outfits (a girl has to make time for her favorite things, right?!) and so this is how my week went...

   Tuesday's look: **side note: gotta love when your co-worker loves to shop as much as you do or more! I was craving (literally like a pregnant lady craves!) a pair of leather pants but couldn't drop $500-1000.00 bones for it, so my sweet (and shop expertise!)  manager Stephanie found these Robert Rodrigues silver leather pants on Haute Look one morning, texted me immediately (as they were a fraction of their initial price) and placed them in her cart as she was ready to check out...turns out the pants are awesome but a size too small, well I spray talc on my "bird legs" every time I wear them and am currently working on stretching them out! hahahaha

H&M white silk blouse; Robert Rodrigues silver leather pant; I.N.C international for Macy's fuchsia heels; Target, Stella and Dot and Juice Couture bracelets

The jacket is a vintage rabbit fur I have had it for over 9 years - such a treasure!

Wednesday's Look:  this look was a total hit on my instagram! Casual but put together just the way I like it :)

Zara boyfriend pants; Target white tee; Theory tux lapel blazer; Nine West pumps; Stella and Dot bracelets; as for the make I added some false lashes to be my WOW factor!

The coolest piece of this outfit is the bikini cover up or canga (as my fellow Brazilians call it) that I love to use as a soft and light scarf...the material is so lightweight that it can double as a spring scarf!!!
   Run to that bikini drawer my dear! You'll be surprised to find so many goodies ;)

Thursday Look:  I must confess I was less than inspired here my friends but hey I didn't feel like putting all my crap on that day and sometimes we feel like that, even people like me who are true clothes and outfit lovers every now and then experience a "Fashionista Block"....totally made up expression!
    Still worth a pic :)

Stella and Dot an Ralph Lauren bracelets

I truly love my Missoni for taget cardigan with gold and earth tones mixed in together; BCBG gold top (I'm totally abusing the guy); JBrand blue skinnies and Ann Taylor peep toe oxfords; earring is from Target and what's becoming my staple a side pony!!!

Friday Look:  Ufa! Finally woke up a bit more inspired as hubby brought back a few pieces of clothing I left behind in Indy such as my beloved Zac Posen for Target red leather jacket. Yay!

Full speed into spring. Diesel light color denim; Zac Posen for target leather jacket; H&M floral blouse; Truth or Dare for Macy's studded pumps, Francesca Romana cuff (with Rio de Janeiro's sugar loaf moutainand the Christ design) , Stella and Dot bracelets and Target earrings

I walked in with my studded Also boots and wore them after a while as my feet were begging for a break!
Please don't mind the weird angle! I wanted to show the eye makeup :)

Had a bit of extra time and went for a new cat eye look! I actually used gel eye liner to line the inner lines of my eyes too and it turned out cool!

Have a fabulous weekend ladies and gents! Thank you soooooo very much for keeping up with me <3

iTube: The Spring Smoky Eye Look!

   Well hello ladies! I'm finally having a bit of time (having breakfast and cooking dinner at the same time I'm writing this post!!! Feeling like such a multi tasker ;) and I'm posting my latest video on the blog. I really really love this look for spring and summer and hope you will enjoy as well. Also wanted to touch base and let you know I'm working on getting a better camera for my videos, I  know they lack visual quality and that's a bit of a turn off, so hopefully you'll stick around to check out my improvements soon :)

These are all the goodies used on this look! They are really my must-haves for spring, if you need to substitute some items I would get the Physicians Formula bronzer/illuminator instead of the Dior, you can also use the BB cream that works for you ;)

    Another piece of news is that we're finally getting closer to move back home. I really miss our home, friends and family in Indy and we're super looking forward to the day of.

   So real quick on this makeup look, it's really important to have a good skin for this coming season and I was having major break outs, what helped me was to prime my skin with the Neutrogena healthy skin primer, it also has a bit of illuminating properties in it, so you can choose to put anything else on top or simply leave your with just the primer, depending what you're doing and weather you need a full made up face or not!

Please let me know if you have any questions, and as always I appreciate any support and if you would please like, share, comment or subscribe to my channel, besides making me a happy (and busy) gal, I'll put more effort and time on my passion for fashion :)

LookBook: Yellow and Leather, Oxblood and Boyfriend!

   Doesn't make any sense does it?! The title refers to my outfit choices from last week!

   While the sun was definitely shinning bright the temps were still in the mid 30's so my picks are somewhat in the transitioning mood.

   While the yellow look is mostly made with items from past seasons I'm sure you can find similar pieces in stores right now and use this as your base inspiration. For instance leather, pleather or any type of coated pant is available in just about every store, so is the floral trend and yellow seems to finally take off, meaning the shelves around the country should be fully stocked :)

Rachel Roy floral top is from last year's collection, so is the yellow tweed  Zara jacket and the Rachel Roy neon pumps, sorry ladies ;(

The BCBG Max Azria faux leather legging is a bit more recent, sure you'll find one ;) and you should most defnitely invest in one as they're still strong for spring!

   I love to mix styles so much that if I had to name one style for myself I really wouldn't know what to say. That being said I adore the masculine touches in every ensemble, such as a blazer, a boyfriend jean, a button up crisp shirt, a fedora hat and the list goes on an on, but I like to add those along with a romantic and feminine piece, not trying to be a guy, just putting edge to my classic choices. So for this little look I paired my boyfriend jeans with a flowy, feminine and somewhat fitted crepe silk blouse with a bow, a pair of cheetah printed booties, a peplum super fitted nude leather jacket and pearls added polish to a rather casual look.

Zara boyfriend jeans, Karen Kane blouse, Zara nude leather jacket, Aldo cheetah printed booties, Stella and Dot jewelry.
      As for my hair do, I was't having the best hair day so up it goes in a messy bun!

Actually in the pic I ws wearing my Steve Madden Luxe metallic heels! And I tried leaving a nudy makeup since the look was meant to be a bit more masculine!
    Have a beautiful weekend ladies and gents, stay safe and let's hope for warmer temperatures! Can't wait to get those dresses and sandals out of storage!

KarinaStyleTravels: NYC - March 2013 (DAY 2)

   So there we were waking up to a late start, as if losing 5 hours (due to my flight delay) was not enough, I also picked the weekend of the time change and lost yet another precious hour :/ so not happy about that...but I had no time to be unhappy about anything, or tired, or cranky, I had only a day left to enjoy myself, my friends and the city!

  First stop off the subway was the famous NY fashion week spot Bryant Park, and even though the trees were bare it only added to the beauty of the place and its surrounding buildings, such as the black and gold one that I love!

Beautiful sunny Sunday morning at the Bryant Park
   As we head to our destination we pass the New York Public Library and I can't help myself but think of Carrie and Big's wedding flop! Hehehe

NY Public Library
    Next stop: The Empire State Building. Breathtaking views kept me there longer than I should've, it was coooooold, and I forgot my little furry scarf, so I headed down to the closest H&M, they have one in every corner and purchased myself a spring scarf! I apologize for the bad quality of these photos, not sure what happened :(

Empire State Building views

Empire State Building views

Chrysler Building view, and we could also see Karin's building across the river! So cool ;)

This quickly became my favorite picture, taken by the security guard! He should be a photographer! hehehe
    Now, off to find a place to eat and as our friend Livia suggested we should check out the "Eataly" which is sort of an Italian market with everything you can imagine from Italy. Such as; coffee, desserts, sodas, cold meats, appetizers, wines, and little restaurants each one with a different specialty. All inside the same space. Very cool, totally worth a visit!

   The eataly is located at the Flatiron district, named after the Flatiron Building at 23rd St, Broadway and Fifth Avenue.

Flatiron District, Karin and I :)

Flatiron Building

   Inside the Eataly we picked the sea food restaurant. Livia suggested the "Fritto Misto" which is a fried dish of fish, calamari and shrimp. Yum!!! All that with a glass of Pinot Griggio, I was in Italian heaven ;)

The restaurants are open kitchen style, you can see them cooking everything, very neat!

Love the prosciutto hanging from the iron bar back there! Hahaha reminds me of my Portuguese dad hanging the sausages to dry out all over our laundry room when I was growing up!

Fritto Misto at Eataly - Flatiron District, NY
    After our awesome meal, espressos and Italian sodas we headed home to get ready for the Stella and Dot trunk show! Except we got a bit lost in the subway and were running late....oops!

   Finally made it back to Karin's home, we set up and open a bottle of red. Time to catch up with the beautiful ladies Amy and Katie and meet sweet Brazilian Juliana. We had such a great time (or at least I did!!!) that the show lasted all nigh and when I realized it was already midnight (and the bottles of wine were all empty...) oops #2.

Karin, me, Amy and Katie

Cute little Amy! We're wearing the jewelry but you can barely see :(

Fab Katie and I wearing spring's must haves!

    Well, I'm sorry to say but that was about it. I went to bed late that night and woke up super early, needless to say how I felt the next day, right?! Let's keep it classy, shall we? ;)  hehehe

   ***Outfit note: for this day I wore a pair of Zara light wash denim; BCBG Max Azria gold tank top; Zara nude leather jacket with a peplum; Rebecca Minkoff mini-mac; and my Sorel snow boots!

   I really enjoyed sharing my trip details with you. Hope you got to laugh a little with me!!!

KarinaStyleTravels: NYC - March 2013 (DAY 1)

   Yes I guess it's getting old, I know you might be sick of hearing me going on and on about how much I LOVE the Big Apple, but I can't help myself especially having a girlfriend living there now...I find just about any excuse I can to visit!!!!

NYC's View from the Top! Never gets old....

   This time my little excuse was a fine Stella and Dot trunk show and it turned out Sunday is not the best day to have one as far as attendance goes but hey, we had a great time (I might have had a bit too much wine - so not professional) but I was so thrilled to be in NY with my Brazilian buddies and to see my darling friends from school Amy and Katie (in fact I love their style so much I've featured their outfit choices here and at modaindy.com previously!).

   Even with my 5 hour flight delay I made a point of enjoying my 'me' time and aside from the time change who caught us totally off guard we managed to have a good time and here are a few pics to prove that ;) hehehehe

 DAY 1:

Dress H&M; leather belt Brave; Leather jacket bebe; black pumps Nine West; handbag mini-mac, Rebecca Minkoff

   Before you wonder what the hell I'm doing in a mini dress in March I'll tell you I had been checking the weather and saw the temps would be in the 50's that weekend, and just so you know upper 30's in the valley is "bare-leg" mode. But obviously I didn't put into account the closeness to the water, the walking around in between buildings that offer a delightful (not) frozen wind and so forth and so on. I know I was getting a lot of stares, just not sure they were good ones! So off we go to our favorite store and I totally had second intentions!

Boyfriend jeans and vertical striped silk blouse, Zara, the rest you already know ;) hehehe
    At our Zara pit stop I got some of the goodies I wanted and switched my dress for a two piece more weather appropriate ensemble ;)

At the Rockefeller Building entrance

At the Rockefeller Center with Karin, where we had plans to skate but the shopping took it's toll on us..

    At the Times Square where we were getting ready to find a place for a drink.

   But look who we bumped into! Ha, the cowboy who's always there barely clothed, very much willing to take a pic with us ( and mind you he says: Everything is touchable ladies, go on and grab it!) hahaha dude, we're all married ladies! Sorry!!!

At The View - Marriott Times Square
    Finally we get in the Marriott and go up to the spinning restaurant that literally spins around (very slowly) so you can get a full view of the city. We only had drinks there which were pretty pricey and beware they charge an 8 dollar fee per person just to sit at the table! Bottom line, it's worth it to do it once in a lifetime.

   Hope you enjoyed my Saturday in the city. Stick around for day 2 tomorrow ;)

iTube: The Nearly Naked Foundation Routine by Karina Reske

   This tutorial goes trough my latest foundation routine, I'm starting to add a bit of glow here and there to welcome spring in a happy way ;) but what I'm really loving right now is the Nearly Naked foundation from Revlon, which is about $10 and it definitely performs like a high end foundation!

  Another awesome product (not so budget friendly but most definitely a must for spring/summer glowy skin is the Dior shimmer powder, I'm using the 002 Amber Diamond but the pink combination is also very cute!

   Other products used on this video is the PIXI line relaxer, pre primer;
MAC studio finish cream concealer;
Lancome blush in Mocha Havanna;
Bobbi Brown blush in Apricot;
Dior New Look mascara;
L'oreal pink lipstick

Hope you enjoy this everyday base for your makeup as much as I do!
