LookBook: Lavender Fever, Florals + Black and the Tomboy Girl!

Well hello ladies! While my personal saga with finding the perfect yet affordable camera continues I've decided to gather up the latest looks and keep you entertained this way. Luckily I was still working a couple of days a week which allows me to dress up a bit and therefore have some fun blog material for you.

That being said I just wanted to give you a heads up on some of the things that are happening this month, we're moving back to Indy...Yay!!!!! Can't scream loud enough, even though our adventure as a family in Vail was beautiful and the people here were so warm and nice we are ready to go back HOME, to our own bed, our own back yard and obviously what I missed the most our awesome friends! So, I'll be pretty busy with packing and leaving and even busier once we get home, unpacking, kids summer vacation (ai ai ai) and getting the place ready to receive friends and family all summer long! So, I'll try to keep posting as much as I can but forgive the lack of schedule or maintenance towards the blog, mommy "career" comes first ;)

Ok, enough of blah blah blah and let's get to the outfits, shall we?!

DAY1: A few of my favorite colors this spring are the soft pastels and Lavender seems to have won a special place in my "Black and White" heart! It's like the new nude, or a nude with an attitude (tacky, I know! hehehehe) but seriously it's been such a sweet surprise that I even went all the way and got a lipgloss in the hue. Haha, and as incredible as it sounds I'm actually wearing it and loving it. The best way to wear I found is after your lip balm alone or accompanied by a cool color lipstick such as Snob by Mac, I think pinks tend to blend nicer with the lavender and sort of tone it down a notch. Just the thought of lavender lipstick and lipgloss together makes me feel ready to enter "Alice in the Wonderland" land....literally!

H&M floral blouse; Blanknyc skinny jeans; Target pumps and belt; Rebecca Minkoff mini mac in Lavender!
For the ladies who asked so much and I couldn't find the nail polish color, here it is: Lav-endure 145 by Cover Girl and if you don't know about their polishes yet, it's worth taking a look at them. I found their texture and longevity much better than some high-end designer polishes (such as Chanel), pretty comparable to Essie and O.P.I.

Stella and dot bracelet; Purple fur vest (gift from my former manager!) and my cool Steve Madden bandit boots in Stone
Also, I'm loving the Sephora Lip Balms I showed you in my Haul video, very moisturizing and perfect to wear under your favorite lipstick.

Day 2: I'm a bit heart broken by sharing this look on pictures, I worked on a makeup/outfit video this day ( for hours) only to find out the media I used along with the particular camcorder weren't compatible to my iMovie, in other words I couldn't edit the video or even see it on my computer with a decent quality...
H&M Floral blouse and neon skinny belt; Goldsign Black premium denim; Forever 21 booties; target earrings

I wore false lashes and impassioned lipstick by Mac as a WOW factor on the outfit

To top it off, I chose my tweed cropped jacket in black by Ann Taylor (chic and casual at the same time)

Day 3: Love the idea of the look, hate how it made my legs look shorter than they are! Ugh, oh well too little too late, if I had to change something I would pair the boots with a more "body con" dress to balance the feminine with the masculine a bit more, like make it more obvious...other than that I love the denim jacket, wool hat and the rest of the accessories.

H&M dress and angora socks; Gryphon NY studded belt; Stella and Dot zoe lariat necklace; Target denim jacket; Steve Madden bandit boots; Blitz Vail hat.

The Zoe Lariat can be worn in many different styles depending on your taste, or outfit option. It's a must for all seasons ;)

Hope you guys enjoyed the looks and stay tuned as tomorrow I'm going to share with you the world of Beuty Boxes! How much they are and what comes in what. More looks to come this week as well, as I try to wait patiently for my camera to arrive so I can work on more videos!

LookBook: Denim on denim, chunky necklaces, military and rocker chick vibe all in one week's worth of outfits!

Here I am slacking off again but I do have a good reason: kids on spring break! Wish I had the emoticons do do a face pulling my hair...because that's how I feel this week :) hehehe

So for last week's looks I've got a mix of of everything for all of your tastes, well maybe not all of them but for most ;)

Tuesday: I was so excited my Frye white cracked leather amazing boots had arrived and I couldn't wait to wear them...till I did, and found myself looking in the mirror and seeing one of those rodeo girls from Dallas with their white costumy boots and mini skirts cheering for the cowboys....yeah not very me after all. I absolutely loved the concept of the boots but in reality it was something totally different and that's a lesson my dear readers, sometimes just because we love a trend it doesn't mean it works for us, in this case I think if I grew a few inches I might've been able to pull it off but since that's not happening I simply returned the lovely "Dallas" boots (that's how I nicknamed them!!)

Xoxo nude leather jacket; Blanknyc skinny jean; Levi's denim shirt; Frye white cracked leather boots; Target patent nude skinny belt; Stella and Dot Zahara Bib Necklace.

I wanted a clean look for that day, nudes and denim on denim were my choice, I love the Zahara Bib neckalace from Stella and Dot because of it's versatility, it can go totally dressy or totally casual. And yes, I decided on the sky high nude patent pumps!

The option was: frye cowboy boot or sky high pumps.....not sure it's just me but man I look a lot leaner on the pumps, no?!

Denim on denim with nude accents and Zahara Bib necklace that goes with just about anything

Wednesday: I was trying a black smokey eye look for day (for a video), soft yet powerful like a black smokey eye should be! So to go along with the soft and hard of the black eye for day I combined a flowy and silky blouse in a cream color with my Joe's coated denim that gives the look of leather, as well and the harsh feeling of studded heels with the softness of a furry creamy color coat :)

Tibi furry short sleeve coat; Joe's coated pant; Rebecca Taylor cream top with black accents; Truth or Dare studded heels; H&M black skinny belt; Stella and Dot Lucia pearl bracelet and earrings.

I love how the boho chic vibe of the top plays well with the edginess of the coated pant and it all goes along with the smokey eye ;)
Thursday: Another try on the smokey eye ( I want it to be perfect for you my friends) and yet another edgy look. I really love the military vibe, it's polished and put together and I'm one for the tailored clothing rather than the loose, even tough I have my share of loose stuff and am not a fan of the super body con bandage dresses and all...oops! So for this look I opted for pants instead of the skirt I was planning to wear, the texture of the shirt is very thick and it shows through when tucked in so I had to play with it for a while until I managed the perfect tuck!

Ralph Lauren military shirt; BCBG faux leather legging; Aldo studded boots; Juice couture belt bracelet; Stella and dot spiky, studded and chain bracelets; Target yellow and gold combo bracelet
Does this necklace makes you feel like Christmas as much as it did me?!  Hehehehe

Loved the big bubbly necklace (now on sale at Blitz Boutique in Vail) with the rest of the outfit, so unexpected!
Friday:  clearly I was in a Rock & Roll mood! Once again it started with a makeup look I saw on Ivete Sangalo (an axe singer from Brazil) who was wearing a big cat eye and red lips and so I wanted to try on the look and automatically associated with a bit of goth, all black ensemble. Now thinking back I would've loved a white crispy shirt with a light wash skinny jean better but hey, too little too late!

Zac Posen pleated skirt; Zara skull tee; Bebe motorcycle jacket; Aldo studded boots; Stella and Dot bracelets

As the week progressed and I had no time to wash my hair, up it went on a high up ponytail with a bit of a bump - a small one. Thank goodness for dry shampoo :D

Also, I switched off to a high bootie once at the store.

Forever 21 super high booties

Wrap leather belt Brave; Stella and Dot bracelets except for the chained one that is Ralph Lauren; studs earnings Rachel Roy.

So I really hope you've enjoyed this week's mini lookbook as it was probably the last big one for a while, I'm done working for the season (well I have a few more days to cover vacations and such but not as often) so while I'll have more time to blog I won't have as many dressy occasions to be a part of, but do not worry as I'm planning a bunch of fun outfit videos with a ton of tips so stay tuned! LookBook: Three days of floral pants, nudes and brights!

Last Tuesday I thought it would be a sunny and somewhat warmer day, I was totally caught off guard with the high winds and icy roads not to mention the big snow storm that hit the Valley on that day...argh anyway I totally picked the wrong day to start wearing my sandals! That being said you can get the idea but be wise and check the weather channel before leaving the house :)

Tuesday: Floral pant and and flat sandals put me in the spring mood....till I left the house and hit the roads :/

H&M floral pant; Target nude tank top; Ann Taylor tweed cropped jacket, Tory Burch flat sandals

For this look I parted my hair half way and pinned with crossing bobbi pins, soft smokey eye makeup with brown shades and a cherry lip stick :)

Stella and dot accessories. Sidewinder ring, $69 and bracelet
Wednesday: went for a skinny jeans and white blazer look, never fails to be polished look!

Rag & Bone skinnies in a black wash; BCBG MaxAzria white blazer; Express tee with mini golden sequins (very very old!); Nine West nude leather pumps; Rebecca Minkoff mini mac in lilac

I love how this is so simple yet sharp look, a bit of peek-a-boo belly and big shoulder pads make the look very current.

Thursday: As the week progressed the sun did come out and I felt really bright! Also, these are the last weeks of the skiing season here in Vail so the stores are having delightful sales....in which I got this amazing Anna Sui dress with an 85%off! Yes, believe it or not, it was one of those great purchases!!!

For those who follow me on instagram already know what choice I ended up wearing but at this point I was debating which shoes to wear with the dress

Anna Sui yellow dress; Jorge Alex blue snake skin pumps; brown leather jacket and belt

Earrings and brown studded leather bracelet are Stella and Dot; colored bangles are Forever 21, chain linked in gold is Ralph Lauren and belt with buckle bracelet is Juice Couture
As for the Friday look I saved it for tomorrow since it has some relevance with the outfit video I did over the weekend! Check back tomorrow and have a wonderful week!

AccessoriZe + LookBook: Off to the Mall....

Saturday I was able to take a trip down to the city (ALONE!!!) and even though it seems odd for some people the enjoyment of driving two hours each way just to go to a mall, I often compare myself to the skiers who drive up from Denver and endure hours of traffic to ski for the day. My husband read a woman's venting on the paper about how a powder day for her husband was her equivalent of a shopping trip to the mall and then he finally started to understand that I was not alone and that people have different likes even if it seems like a crazy one....

Well, my thrill doesn't only come from the actual strolling around in a crowded place but the whole process of seeing what's new in stores, people watching (I'm a visual person, so much inspiration in watching what people are wearing), dressing for the occasion is very much up there on my list of exciting things! Let me open a parentheses and tell you it didn't use to be like this when I lived in Indy because our malls are a 15 minute trip not full of excitement. But what used to be a burden to me about moving here is now quite an enjoyable thing. Also, the drive down the Rocky Mountain is amazing, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking and it never gets old, plus I can sing along loudly (for a full 4 hour period) to the music I fully enjoy with no judgment!!!! (no fights about changing the music either...yay!)

Here's what I wore to my shopping trip to the most exciting Cherry Creek District (oh, I'm going to miss this place badly).

A great pair of sunglasses goes a loooooong way ;)

This is one of my favorite necklaces. The Lillith Necklace from Stella and Dot $138, the shirt is still available at H&M and it was my best find so far this season, it retails for $25 and it comes in white, nude, and mint colors!

My beloved leopard printed booties (from Aldo) are always a success, they just add an instant fab feel to any outfit! Also wearing my coated Joe's jean ;)
And as always, invest in a great piece, I have seriously worn my leather motorcycle jacket (that is at least 3 or 4 years old)  every  single day of this past week and it's amazing how I can change the feel of it by switching accessories and pieces of clothing. Ladies don't go cheap on the staple pieces, you won't regret!

Hope you are having an amazing week!

AccessoriZe + LookBook: Black & Cream...and Green?!

Once again I couldn't fit this look into one category so here's a good accessory plus look look :)

A great sub for the LBD is the combination of black and cream which is a sub for the black and white classic look. Although I love the sharpness of a crisp white I also love the romanticism of a sweet pastel creamy color!

This dress was a birthday gift from mom from years ago and I never get tired of it. Banana Republic dress; Forever 21 booties; leather motorcycle jacket bebe; all accessories Stella and Dot!

AccessoriZe + LookBook: The Dark side of Spring!

Spring is still a far cry around these parts but this look is perfect regardless (or so I think!) it's the dark trend leaking through spring, which I love if I may say ;)

Henry & Bell coated pant; H&M flower silk blouse, J. Crew suede belt; Nine West traditional pumps; Stella and Dot Zahara Bib necklace, and all bracelets!

And for my makeup look I used my New Look set by Christian Dior, it's an exclusive set you'll find at Sephora (might be online only) for the price of the mascara alone you get a mini travel eyeshadow set along with the full size mascara!!! Who doesn't like that???

Hope you enjoy it and Happy Friday!!!!
