iTube: The Heatless curls + Cachos sem babyliss ou chapinha!
Both videos are the same just different language. It's an experiment I did with these soft curlers that don't use any heat at all, I'm showing on the videos the way I do to speed up the process in which I do blow dry my hair with a hot blow drier but it's not a necessary step, you just have to keep the rollers longer if your hair is cold but the results will be the same!
I bought my rollers at Amazon.com, but youcan probably find them on local drugstore or beauty supply store. If not, here's the link:
Pra quem ta afim de fazer cachinhos sem fritar o cabelitcho!!! Sao necesarias algumas horinhas pra ele ficar bem definido!
I got the blog back on track but my life is still far from being back to normal!!! I'm having family and guests visiting throughout the whole summer so I'm busy getting the house back in shape! Hopefully I'll be posting more sometime soon. Thanks for understanding!!!

LookBook: The many faces of Summer Shorts!
Summer is finally here and the piece I seem to be wearing more than ever is the short shorts! In many different textures and styles you can't deny we reach out for them quite often this time of the year!
So here goes a few ways to wear your shorts.
I started with a pair of cut off shorts, they used to be pants and for some weird reason the washing machine ruined the pant making it look all stretched out around the crotch area, since they have an amazing fit, I really didn't want to get rid of them. So I cut them off on leaving about two inches longer than I really wanted them to be so I could fold them up and give them a nice little finish! You would never be able to tell they were pants. Haha!!!!
Tips....
1. To balance the shortness of the shorts, wear a long necklace. This is the perfect summer one, choose a summer style or design to be worn for during the day. Compliment the shorts with a cute cropped blazer, although a boyfriend style would also look cute with short shorts.
2. Pair your shorts with a cute tee but use and abuse of feminine accessories, combining patent leather on the look will bring the casual feel to a different level without looking like you're trying too hard.
3. Keep jewelry to a minimum and in neutral tones for a minimalist chic look.
4. Combine different textures to add interest to your outfit. A heavier knit along with tweed make you ready for a meeting, even though it may seem casual the fabrics are not so the look is very much appropriated for such affairs.
5. Remember that accessories will play a small but an important part on the look. If you are in fact going to a meeting them I'd say loose the rocker bracelets, but if you're going to school then keep them by all means!
Rompers are back, or shall I say they stayed from coming back last year. Does that make sense?!
I love this one in particular and it was giving to me as a gift from my friend Stephanie. I love it girl!!!!
6. If your romper is printed try choosing the same color to accessorize. That will compliment the outfit keeping the romper the center of attention. A jean jacket breaks the vibe of the look adding a bit more casualness (I wore this for a graduation party!)
7. Nothing better for a dirty hair day than a big puff! A puff is seasonless... Hehehehe
The next pic is a good example of neutral accessories, combined for boldness without being overwhelming.
A more casual vibe adding the neon trend that seemed to also stick around.
8. If adding neon, keep the rest of the outfit in neutral colors, navy, white, pastels should be great canvases for the neon to stand out.
9. Shorts are cute with heels too but be careful not to make it look like you're trying to hard, I would wear a loose cut if wearing heels, it's a lot more sophisticated!
10. Keep your makeup fresh and light, it's summer and you don't want the sweat to ruin your face, so keep it minimal but flawless!

Photoshoot Series: Vail - an Experience (Vail Lionshead Village)
** Quick apology for next week's mess up, I'm still trying to recover
my domain and my traffic. Please help me spread the word that you need
to add blogspot after karinastylediaries for now, thank you for your
patience**
Back to Blitz for the last change and we take the in-town bus for a five minute ride towards the Lionshead Village, where it used to be the "not so pretty part of the town" back 10 years ago when Brian and I moved there after getting married. But boy was I surprised when we went back last year, it is now the most beautiful and charming cozy village. The buildings became more and more European inspired, Italian gelatterias, and coffee shops with little outdoor tables. The buildings are colorful and full of style, a truly amazing scenery for the lovers of architecture and such!
Bus Ride, the buses are free of charge and go between the villages as well as to and from East and West Vail, inter-town buses are also available for a charge. Buses are clean and fun to ride, during season all the skis and snow boards hang outside on the side rack, while we carry our equipment with us inside where everyone (almost everyone) is wearing their ski gear and keeping warm!
" The storybook-looking centerpiece of the reinvention of Lionshead Square, Arrabelle has a hand-stenciled, multiterraced facade that looks like several buildings straight from the Old Country, and includes a clock tower, glockenspiel, and other Bavarian touches. Best of all, it's Vail's only true ski-in, ski-out lodging, featuring a ski valet who warms up your skis and has them waiting lift-side on your command. Inside it's just as wondrous, from the happy bronze bear that inhabits the lustrous lobby to the spa (the signature treatment involves hot wine) to the guest rooms, which are the best in the village. The 32 units here feature canopied beds, original art, rich red color schemes, fireplaces, and private balconies. There is a splendid rooftop pool with a remarkable view of Eagle Bahn and an excellent French eatery, Centre V."
The weather was beautiful, sunny and blue skies just ready for the tourists who visit for memorial day, a great time to shop sales!
Just by the skating ring is the Bell Tower, does it get prettier than this?!
In the warmer seasons the skating ring becomes a hang out place, the town offers diferent kinds of events throughout the year and these places are used to put the booths.
Might as well show the liquor store! Hehehehe
Walking from the Gondola this is what you see. The left side is newer and chicer and the right side sits Garfinkle's, a great bar food and beer spot with big tables on the deck, both feature privileged views of the mountain!
Avanti is a great little run, one of my many favorites! And we totally trespassed the "do not trespass" sign and got on the lift! Sorry Town of Vail ;)
I couldn't pick my favorite, so just posted them all!
I suck at snowboarding, absolutely hate it, my bottom thanked me after giving up! Hahaha but I love love and love snow skiing (not good at water skiing tough) and the feel like I'm flying, the scenery and the cold air blowing on my face is truly an amazing feeling and I feel so fortunate and blessed to have done it in one of the most amazing Mountains in the world! Viva o Colorado!!!!

Outfit#3: Tom Ford Whitney sunglasses; J.Crew white cardigan; H&M floral plant; Zara heels; Stella and Dot Isadora Necklace and bracelets.

Please let me know how you like this kind of post guys, your feedback is very valuable to me!

iTube: O olho de Gata + The great Cat Eye ;)
If you are a subscriber on my youtube channel you probably have seen these videos I posted last week. The reason I saved them for the blog is because they are the makeup look I wore on the photoshoot, and since this whole week is being dedicated to that this is their time to shine right here!!!
This is the English Version:
**I used the Mac Matchmaster #3, it's the best medium to full coverage especially for the summer time has a matte finish that is especially great for oily skin, I have a T-zone and it shines thoughtout the day so this foundation lasts for me a lot longer without touch-ups. Another important product for this look is to have a good gel eyeliner, it can be waterproof but I found it that when I put powder on top the liner stays put for many hours! All the rest of the products are pretty much whatever you like and is comfortable with ;)
Tomorrow is the final part of the Vail shoot, check back :D

Photoshoot Series: Vail - an Experience (Solaris)
Change of outfit and a few shots at Blitz boutique, where I used to work and where I was doing my changes of clothing with the girls, we head to the Solaris building, a newer luxurious lodge with hotel amenities in town where it hosts a series of art galleries, the highly rated Japanese restaurant in town the Matsuhisa, beautiful and extravagant boutiques, our favorite coffee shop the Yetis (which is the same vibe and friendliness from the employees as a Trader Joe's here, so you can compare) and an ice skating ring. Rent a residence at the Solaris "for $785-$7,000 per night. The restaurants are usually full—you need to
book reservations at Matsuhisa a month in advance—gradually shifting the
dining and partying scene from Bridge Street (the area of Vail Village
where most of the bars and restaurants are located) to Solaris, a
five-minute walk west."
Blitz has been around in the Village for 7 years and it's owners Barbara and Peter along with their manager Stephanie are one of the greatest people I have ever worked for.
Check out their webpage: http://blitzvail.com/
People LOVE the decorations in the store, their fireplace is welcoming and inviting for the guys to seat by the fire while their women shop!
As we head down the street we hit the Solaris building.
A gardening company was working on the landscape that day and so I just joined in ;) hehehe
This lighting structure (have no idea how to call it, hehehe) lights up at night and changes colors throughout the night, just magical!
It also serves as a hang out spot, and people watching. Right by the skating ring you can just sit an watch the ones skating.
On the north side of the ring sits the locals and the tourists favorite coffee shop. Yetis has a great vibe, healthier and gourmet options. They do art on the coffee and people alwyas have a smile on their faces! Great place to hang out as well.
Their great cupcakes are famous around there.
Right outside sits this "delivery bike" which doesn't deliver it is just part of the decor :)
Solaris also has a Cine Bistro, which was a new concept movie theater to me. They serve gourmet food, dinner or snacks and drinks, including pitchers (to last throughout the movie). and a fuller size table, awesome experience.

Outfit #2: Sunglasses Dior (available at Blitz); pink cardi J.Crew, ankle pant H&M, shoes Zara, Zahara bib necklace and all bracelets Stella and Dot.
I hope you are enjoying getting to know a bit of Vail with me as much as we enjoyed doing this!
One more post of the shoot along with the videos coming up to close the week and our Vail experience with a golden key ;)
